On September 25th I participated in my first television debate against six other candidates for Ward 3 City Councillor. It was a very civil debate without the negativity that many associate with politics.
The debate was hosted by Cynthia Mulligan on Rogers TV.
I stated it at the beginning of the debate, this election is about choice. I stood alone on several issues:
- Not Eliminating Municipal Land Transfer Tax
- Against Privatization of city services
- 2 of 7 against Jets on Toronto Island Airport
- Conditional No to Tolls on Highways.
- Until a reliable transit system is implemented
I've stated time and time again, I am for Policy over Politics. Being honest about the need to invest in Etobicoke, in Toronto, into our communities has been important to my campaign. Residents must be aware of the limitations a Councillor has before they can accept their promises for massive changes to transit, infrastructure and politics in general.
Several photos from the debate show the candidates who attended.
Please take a moment to enjoy and stay informed about who is running in Ward 3. Examine their politics, take a moment to compare their policies. I hope to gain your support in bringing change to city hall, to putting Policy over Politics.
